The TNT Tropang Giga enter the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup quarterfinals with a twice-to-beat advantage, looking to avenge their elimination round loss against guest team Eastern on Thursday, Feb. 6.

The match starts at 7:30 p.m. at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

TNT secured the No. 2 seed with an 8-4 record, edging out Converge and Ginebra via superior quotient.

Their strong finish earned them a crucial playoff edge, but their road to the semifinals starts with a chance for redemption against an Eastern squad that dominated them, 105-84, in their conference opener.

Eastern has since cooled off, sliding to the No. 7 spot after losing three of its last four games.

Meanwhile, TNT has gained momentum, with Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Calvin Oftana, and RR Pogoy spearheading their push.

With a semifinal berth at stake, the Tropang Giga are eager to make a statement and prove they are a much different team than the one Eastern overpowered earlier in the tournament.
