For the first time since Valentine’s Day, San Miguel and Magnolia meet again in a battle between the hottest teams in the PBA Season 48 Philippine Cup.

Finalists in the last Commissioner’s Cup, the two teams collide at 7:30pm at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Beermen, who prevailed in the said best-of-seven finale, and the Hotshots both stake their scintillating runs in the season-ending conference, with the former looking to preserve an immaculate 7-0 win-loss record.

For a team that is overflowing with firepower with the likes of June Mar Fajardo, CJ Perez, and Marcio Lassiter leading the charge, sharing the ball will be key.

“Sabi nga ni caoch (Jorge Gallent) pag naglalaro kami ng buo talaga mahihirapan sila pero kung magsasarili kami, kami mahihirapan,” said Perez.

Indeed, the Beermen would need all hands on deck against an in-form Magnolia.

Behind the stellar play of Ian Sangalang and Mark Barroca, the Hotshots zoomed to 5-2 on the crest of a four-game winning streak.

The two teams look to fortify their hold on the 1-2 spots in the leaderboard for the twice-to-beat incentive in the playoffs.

Ushering in the gigantic clash is the Phoenix-Meralco game at 4:30pm.

The Fuel Masters and the Bolts are desperate to breathe life into their flickering playoff hopes with a 3-6 and 3-5 records, respectively.
