San Miguel fan favorite Kyt Jimenez sat surrounded by gleeful teammates inside the dugout at the Smart Araneta Coliseum shortly after the Beermen clinched the PBA Commissioner’s Cup title against Magnolia on Wednesday.

Behind him stood seven-time MVP June Mar Fajardo, who flashed an impish smile before bringing out the scissors he would use to seal a deal with the social media star and playing assistant coach Chris Ross.

Jimenez, who wore his long locks in a ponytail, could only accept his fate.

Fajardo proceeded to haphazardly cut the hair of the SMB rookie amid a circle of cheering teammates, who even poured cans of beer over Jimenez.

But it did not stop there. With Jimenez raising a handful of his cut locks, veteran Ross followed suit.

With that, Jimenez bid goodbye to the hair he started growing before the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Naging deal namin ni Kuya June Mar at coach Chris (Ross) na basta mag-champion kami, automatic, gupit talaga,” said Jimenez.

“Gusto nga nila akong kalbuhin. Kaso, 'wag naman kasi 'pag kinalbo nila ako, baka tumambay ako sa bahay ng isang buwan,” he added with a chuckle.

The freshly crowned champion Jimenez, who lost inches of his locks and now sports a shoulder-length cut, said that the new look was worth it.

“Worth it, sobra. Pinaka-the-best na araw ‘to para sa’kin,” said Jimenez.

While the No. 76 in last year's draft may have lost a huge chunk of his hair, he has gained his first championship in his first conference in the league and, surely, he will have no regrets.
