Nikola Jokic admits Game 5 clincher vs Timberwolves not his night despite triple-double

It was a bad night by the standards of reigning two-time MVP Nikola Jokic, and yet the Denver Nuggets managed to overcome a double-digit deficit in Game 5 to eliminate the Minnesota Timberwolves behind a 112-109 victory.

"I was missing shots the whole game. It was not my night," Jokic said in the postgame interview.

The Joker did miss a lot, only hitting 8 field goals out of 29 attempts. But the superstar more than compensated the shooting woes with a triple-double. Jokic still finished with 28 points, 17 rebounds, and 12 assists. If this is an off night, imagine the damage when he's fully effective. That's why it's hard to argue against the Serbian star.

"I stayed aggressive. I believed in myself. My teammates believed in me. It was just one of those nights."

Jokic did not do it alone though, as Jamal Murray remains on target with a game-high 35 points.

More importantly, the Nuggets are marching on to the next round where they will meet a tougher and meaner matchup in Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and the Phoenix Suns.
