Gilas Women mainstay Kaye Pingol reunites with teammates Sam Harada, Shanda Anies, and Chinese reinforcement Renzhu Li as their Uratex Dream team take on a tough Pool B in the 10-team field of 3x3 Basketball Thailand International League 2024.

Uratex Dream have been grouped with the Azerbaijan 3x3 Women’s National Team led by former Houston Comets center Marcedes Walker, Lotto 3x3 Team of Poland, and CT Tigers and Udon Wolves from Thailand.

“Challenging para sa amin, pero every time naman na naglalaro kami sa Uratex, we take it upon ourselves to carry that pride of representing the Philippines well,” said Pingol, who is seeking to push the Dream further than their quarterfinal finish last year.

Pingol will be playing fresh off representing Gilas Women in the 2024 FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup in Singapore during the course of Holy Week, where they fell to Chinese Taipei in the quarterfinals.

Pool A, on the other hand, will have Dusseldorf ZOOS of Germany featuring Manila Hustle 3x3 Season 2 MVP Aoi Katsura and Ama Degbeon, together with Malaysia Rising Star, Jumpshot of Singapore, and Thai teams Shoot It Dragons and Sriracha Eagle.

The top three teams in each pool will earn automatic quarterfinal berths, while the bottom two will still have to play in a knockout game.

Over on the men’s side, Coach E Basketball School and Banh Mi Kitchen will represent the country from April 6 to 7.

Coach E Basketball School will be composed of Ryan Monteclaro, JP Belencion, Bong Galanza, and Ivan Maata and is grouped in Pool A with Malaysia Rising Star, Ninja Air of Japan, and Luang Prabang of Laos.

Banh Mi Kitchen, on the other hand, will have Yutien Andrada, Tonino Gonzaga, TH Tumalip, and Louie Vigil as it finds itself in Pool C with Thai teams Shoot It Dragons, Chiang Rai Bull, and Chumphon Blue Crabs.

Pool B will have Sagamihara 3x3 of Japan, New Force of USA, and Thai squads Sriracha Eagle and Udon Wolves to complete the 12-team cast.

The winner in the men’s side will earn a spot in the Hongcheon Challenger on May 11 and 12, which will serve as a qualifier for the 2024 FIBA 3x3 World Tour Chengdu Masters.
