After a busy schedule with the national team, Filipinas members Angela Beard and Katrina Guillou will go from teammates to foes.
The two are thrilled for this next chapter in their playing careers over a week after the Filipinas bowed out of the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, Beard shared a photo of herself with Guillou while wearing their respective club uniforms.
The Fil-Aussie Beard will suit up for Linkoping FC through the 2025 season after completing her transfer from Western United, while Guillou will don the Pitea colors.
Beard, though, would definitely miss wearing the Filipinas colors with her teammate.
“See you in Aus (Australia), I much prefer it when we’re in the same uniform,” she said.
Guillou agreed.
“Me too,” she wrote in the comment section with three heart emojis.
Jaclyn Sawicki, who also played with Beard at Western United in the A-League Women, shared everyone’s sentiment upon seeing the picture.
“Cuuuuuuuuuute!!” Sawicki wrote in the comment section.
These Pinay booters were part of the team that made history in the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Under coach Mark Torcaso, the Filipinas have now shifted their focus on the Olympic qualifiers.
It is unclear, however, which players Torcaso will have available for that tournament, which would be a great opportunity for the Filipinas to add to their history-making ways.
