NU opened its six-peat bid with a 25-22, 29-27, 25-19 sweep of the UST Golden Spikers in their season debut.
Only five Bulldogs scored but it was enough, as Buds Buddin led the way with 16 points on 11 attacks, three kill blocks and two aces.
Greg Ancheta directed the offense with 17 precise sets, as NU’s towering defense was also on full display after racking up 12 blocks in the match.
Standing in their way, however, are the Soaring Falcons side coming off a thrilling five-set victory over the Ateneo Blue Eagles in their opener.
Despite the Falcons’ confidence, NU holds an eight-game winning streak over Adamson dating back to Season 81 and looks to continue asserting their dominance in Season 88.
