“For us at Cignal, this is an opportunity for us to reaffirm our commitment as the broadcaster of the UAAP and we do that by continuously introducing innovations to the way we cover the UAAP.” he said.

Cignal’s plans were highlighted by the return of Alas team captain Jia de Guzman and three-time UAAP champion Tin Tiamzon to the roster of live game broadcast analysts.

“If you look at our roster, it is comprised of UAAP legends, national team players, PVL stars. Because we wanna make sure our analysts are credible, capable, charismatic and they have the ability to educate and entertain all the UAAP fans who watch, all the exciting games that will happen in Season 88,” said Halili.

Also in the lineup of analysts are the likes of Paneng Mercado, Jamie Lavitoria, Fifi Sharma, Mela Tunay, Bea de Leon, Ponggay Gaston, Julia Coronel, Alyssa Valdez, and Denden Lazaro-Revilla.

Meanwhile, volleyball talent will also be oozing outside of the games.

Starting Lineup, Cignal’s daily sports show, will be employing homegrown analysts from all eight UAAP schools — namely,  Shaya Adorador, Max Juangco, Erin Pangilinan, Chiara Permentilla, Nica Celis, Erika Raagas, Alleiah Malaluan, and Maji Mangulabnan.

“All eight are currently undergoing training, skills development. They’ll go on our sports show Starting Lineup to analyze and breakdown all the stories that will happen in Season 88.” said Halili.

On the other hand, Jen Nierva, Julia Coronel, Janna Ehido, Mich Cobb, and Kennedy Batas will be featuring in their lifestyle show The Bounce, which will also feature guests from current UAAP players.

The UAAP Season 88 collegiate volleyball tournament kicks off on Valentine’s Day, February 14, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
