Back in the war zone are the University of the East (UE) Red Warriors.

UE is set to open the UAAP Season 88 men’s volleyball tournament against the UP Fighting Maroons on Saturday, February 14, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Game time is at 9:00 a.m., with the matchup streaming on the Pilipinas Live app. It is also available on the UAAP Varsity Channel.

The Red Warriors are looking to move past a forgettable Season 87, where they finished winless in 14 matches—the only team in the eight-school field without a victory.

Dating back to Season 86, UE has dropped 21 straight games and has managed just one win since 2024.

Since winning the title in Season 44 back in 1982, the Red Warriors have not reached the championship round, including the entirety of the Final Four era, which began in Season 56.

But with a clean slate to start the new season, team captain Xjhann Camaymayan and the rest of UE are eager to finally end the long skid.
