The DLSU Green Archers stunned top-seeded NU to reach their third straight UAAP Finals, becoming only the third no. 4 seed to eliminate a no. 1 in Final Four history.
De La Salle University is headed to its third straight UAAP Finals after surging past National University, 78–73, in their winner-take-all showdown in the Season 88 Final Four on Saturday, December 6, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The no. 4–seeded Green Archers completed a stunning comeback over the top-seeded Bulldogs, who carried a twice-to-beat advantage heading into the semis matchup.
This marks only the third time in UAAP history that a no. 1 seed has been eliminated by a no. 4 seed in the Final Four era.
DLSU now advances to a familiar Finals stage, where it will face the University of the Philippines for the third time beginning Wednesday, December 10, at the Mall of Asia Arena.
