The NU Pep Squad is now the sole winningest team in the UAAP Cheerdance Competition.
The NU Pep Squad was swift and deadly in claiming back-to-back titles and a record ninth overall in the UAAP Season 88 Cheerdance Competition at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay Saturday, Nov. 29.
NU showcased a sleek ‘Ninja’-inspired routine, tapping into Japanese culture to become the lone winningest team in the event.
The NU Pep Squad broke a triple-tie with the UP Pep Squad and the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe in the number of championships won.
It scored 695 points to assert its dominance in the eight-team field, winning all of its nine titles in a span of 12 UAAP seasons.

Meanwhile, the Adamson Pep Squad copped back-to-back second place.
AdU scored 659, 36 points behind the NU Pep Squad.
Meanwhile, the FEU Cheering Squad wrapped up the podium finishers with their Childhood Games-inspired routine, as they finished just half a point behind the Adamson Pep Squad at 658.5 points.
The results thus replicated last year's podium finish.
The UE Pep Squad (623) ended up just outside the podium at fourth with its High School Musical-inspired routine, while the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe (618.5) ended up at fifth place.
The UP Varsity Pep Squad (558) finished sixth with its Christmas routine, followed by the DLSU Animo Squad (546.5) and the Ateneo Blue Eagles (436.5) at seventh and eighth, respectively.
