The DLSU Green Archers snapped UP's six-game win streak for a crucial victory in their own UAAP Season 88 Final Four chase.
Somehow and someway, La Salle holds UP’s number in UAAP Season 88.
The Green Archers are still fighting for their Final Four lives, but they picked up a lifeline Saturday with a crucial 87-82 win over the Fighting Maroons at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
La Salle’s victory put a stop to UP’s six-game win streak, which started after the Green Archers won their initial Finals rematch to end the first round.
As such, the Taft-based squad improved to 7-6, a full game ahead of FEU and idle Adamson for the last Final Four slot.
The loss dropped UP to 10-4, with the defending champions taking the no. 2 seed and a twice-to-beat advantage into the semifinals.
Mike Phillips was the high man for La Salle with 21 points and 14 rebounds, while Vhoris Marasigan added 17 points.
UP got 25 points from Noy Remogat in the loss.
