The FEU Tamaraws outlasted La Salle to stay in the UAAP Season 88 Final Four race, thanks to the two-way play of Kirby Mongcopa
The FEU Tamaraws remain in the hunt for the Final Four after a thrilling win over the DLSU Green Archers, 84-83, in UAAP Season 88 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday.
Kirby Mongcopa drilled the go-ahead bucket for FEU with 26.2 seconds left, before completing a defensive stop against La Salle’s Jacob Cortez to help the Tamaraws claw to victory and improve to 5-7 — enough to still be in contention of the semis.
Meanwhile, La Salle, who leaned on Luis Pablo late in the game, botched a potential game winner from JC Macalalag from the corner three-point line to fall to 6-5.
The loss dropped La Salle to no. 4, now behind idle UST (7-5).
