For Adamson’s Nash Racela, it’s only a matter of time before the UE Red Warriors finally secure their much-coveted UAAP men’s basketball win.
The misery continues for UE.
After a narrow 56-53 loss to Adamson, the Red Warriors extended their losing skid to eight straight games in the UAAP Season 88 men’s basketball tournament.
The defeat also marked the 12th consecutive loss for UE dating back to last season, as the Recto-based squad has not tasted victory since their 74-58 rout of the NU Bulldogs last October 26, 2024.

Despite the setback, Adamson head coach Nash Racela sees that the Red Warriors’ much-coveted breakthrough is just around the corner.
“UE played really well today. They know what they are doing and are very deliberate. They are due for a win, makikita rin natin yon soon,” Racela said.
For much of the game, Adamson was in control until DJ Robles’ putback gave the Red Warriors a brief 50-49 advantage with under three minutes left.
However, Racela and his wards scored seven of the game’s final 10 points, as Adamson extended its winning streak to three games.

Even without guard Wello Lingolingo and head coach Chris Gavina, sidelined by suspensions, UE forced 17 turnovers and held Adamson to just nine points in the final frame.
Still, Racela knows there’s work to be done on both sides of the court.
“Masyado kaming malayo pa sa offense. Our average is probably down to 60 again, and the next team is probably scoring 70 points a game. Dapat hindi kami makuntento at dapat mag-improve kami. We are still working on it. Sana hindi pa huli at umabot kami to see that improvement.”
