Thanks to the red-hot backcourt tandem of Jorick Bautista and Janrey Pasaol, FEU is on a roll — and coach Sean Chambers is all praises for the two who have become the Tamaraws’ steady anchors.
With composure, chemistry, and confidence finally clicking, FEU’s backcourt Jorick Bautista and Janrey Pasaol are proving to be the heart and soul of the Tamaraws’ resurgence.
Their latest masterpiece came in FEU’s hard-earned 75-68 dismissal of the Ateneo Blue Eagles, where the pair showcased why head coach Sean Chambers has placed his full trust in them.

“These last two games, they have been like what I’ve envisioned—being the best two guards in the league,” Chambers said of his two solid guard.
Bautista carried the Tamaraws in crunch time, firing eight of his 20 points in the final quarter, including back-to-back triples that turned the tide in FEU’s favor.

Pasaol complemented him perfectly with his second straight double-double—15 points and 13 assists—anchoring the team’s offense with poise beyond his years.

“When we were down by four, I just sat down and let them do their job,” Chambers added.
The dynamic pair nearly matched Ateneo’s total output in the final frame, combining for 12 points in a tightly contested game that saw eight ties and 17 lead changes.
Just days earlier, in FEU’s 95-76 rout of UE, the duo combined for 39 points and 12 assists—a glimpse of their rising chemistry and confidence.
“We had a meeting with Jorick and Janrey and talked about the expectations that I know are high and can sometimes be unfair, but they’re so talented and therefore needed to lead by example,” Chambers shared.
And lead they did, as FEU improved to 3-5, now just a game behind Ateneo’s 4-4 record.
