Behind a balanced attack, the FEU Tamaraws picked up their second victory while keeping the UE Red Warriors winless in the UAAP Season 88 men’s basketball tournament.

The Tamaraws ended the first round of UAAP Season 88 on a strong note, taking a commanding 95-76 decision over the UE Red Warriors on Sunday, Oct. 19, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Jorick Bautista led a balanced FEU offense with 22 points, while fellow starters Janrey Pasaol (17), Mo Konateh (15), Kirby Mongcopa (12), and Jedrick Daa (10) also scored in double figures.
Behind a strong 30–20 second-quarter, the Tamaraws built a 52–39 halftime lead and maintained control from there, leading by as many as 25 points. The win pushed FEU to 2-5 entering the second round.
Meanwhile, Precious Momowei finished with 23 markers in another losing effort for the Red Warriors, who played without Wello Lingolingo and head coach Chris Gavina as both served suspensions.
The loss dropped UE to 0–7 this season and extended its losing skid to 13 straight games, dating back to last year.
