The Blue Eagles found a way to hold on despite being outscored 36-13 in the fourth, seeing their once 31-point lead cut down to just five in the closing moments of the game.
With the victory, the Blue Eagles claimed solo first in the team standings, while also earning their first elimination-round win over La Salle since 2023.
Ateneo also likewise won its first four games for the first time since 2022, a year that resulted in a Finals appearance.
The Blue Eagles will seek to extend their perfect start to 5-0 when they host the UST Growling Tigers on Saturday, October 11.
Meanwhile, DLSU, who dropped to 2-2, aims to bounce back in an October 12 clash against the 3-1 NU Bulldogs.
