The FEU Tamaraws are on the board after holding off the Adamson Soaring Falcons, ending a three-game slide in UAAP Season 88.
The sun is finally shining in Morayta as FEU carved out a 64-58 decision against the Adamson Soaring Falcons in UAAP Season 88 on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Mo Konateh wreaked havoc with a strong 18-point, 21-rebound double-double for the Tamaraws, who also arrested a three-game slide to start the tournament.
After a back-and-forth first half, FEU built a 56-45 lead midway in the early part of the fourth quarter after a Kirby Mongcopa basket.
Adamson, though, refused to quit and came to within 58-61 in the last two minutes. Janrey Pansaol then hit a crucial three to pad the Tamaraws lead to six, 64-58, and eventually held on to victory.
FEU faces a tall task next in the form of the defending champions UP Fighting Maroons on Sunday, October 12 at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion.
Meanwhile, Adamson dropped to 1-3 with back-to-back losses. The Falcons will next face the winless UE Red Warriors on October 11 at the Blue Eagle Gym.
