Rookie Collins Akowe and the UST Growling Tigers will attempt to prove they’re the real deal when they face La Salle in the early goings of UAAP Season 88.
Collins Akowe and the UST Growling Tigers aim to keep their momentum going when they face the DLSU Green Archers in the UAAP Season 88 men’s basketball tournament on Saturday, Sept. 27.
Game time is set for 4:30 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
UST is coming off a rousing 20-point rout of defending champion UP in its opener, with Akowe immediately making his mark by posting a massive double-double of 29 points and 17 rebounds in his collegiate debut.
The Tigers also get a boost with the return of guard Forthsky Padrigao from a one-game suspension, giving them more firepower as they chase a 2-0 start.
La Salle, meanwhile, was pushed to the limit by Adamson in its first game, escaping with only a two-point win.
Mason Amos, who delivered the clutch triple to seal the victory, will look for a stronger overall showing after a quiet six-point debut in Green and White.
With both teams at 1-0, the winner of this matchup will keep pace with league leader Ateneo (2-0) and gain an early edge in the standings.
