UP is ready to turn the page as the Fighting Maroons kick off their UAAP Season 88 women’s basketball campaign against the Adamson Lady Falcons on Wednesday, September 24, at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion Arena.

Match time is at 7:00 p.m.

After missing the Final Four last season with a 5-9 slate, UP enters this year carrying a redemption mindset.

But the road to a breakthrough is anything but smooth as the Fighting Maroons lost a key piece in Season 86 Rookie of the Year Favour Onoh, who departed for Oklahoma State University in the US NCAA.

Still, the UP is not without firepower.

Leading the charge is Louna Ozar, a Season 87 Mythical Team member who finished third in the MVP race behind Ateneo’s Kacey Dela Rosa and UST’s Kent Pastrana.

Ozar, fresh from her Gilas Women stint in the FIBA Asia Cup last July, is poised to elevate her game further.

Last season, she put up all-around numbers with 12.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per outing, making her the Lady Maroons’ most versatile threat.
