UP’s back, shout it out!

The UP Streetdance Club returned to the top in the UAAP Street Dance competition after strutting their stuff in a Magic-inspired routine at the curtain closer of UAAP Season 87 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

UP clinched its fourth title, unseating UST and now tied for the winningest programs in Street Dance.

UP SDC wowed the fans at the MOA Arena with their dazzling routine highlighted by costume pages, stellar props, and stunning choreography to deny UST Prime a three-peat bid in the Street Dance competition.

This is UP’s first street dance title since Season 78, the year UP hosted the league.

UST Prime finished second with a zombie-inspired routine that thrilled fans, featuring hits like Lady Gaga’s Abracadabra.

Wrapping up the podium finishers is fellow powerhouse La Salle Dance Company - Street with a nature-inspired performance, keeping the audiences on the edge of their seats with their tantalizing routine.

UP SDC clinched the highest artistic total which they used to edge out UST Prime. They finished ahead of the defending champions in the total score, 89.33 to 88.57.

LSDC - Street finished with 86.17 to complete the podium.

In the high school division, the NU-Nazareth School unseated UST Galvanize for the first time since the introduction of the high school competition.

NUNS stayed true to the essence of street dance in their classic performance that wowed audiences and the judges for a sweet score of 82.83.

Galvanize was out of the podium altogether with Ateneo and Adamson taking the first and second runner-up honors in the high school competition.

Ateneo, who entered the competition for the first time, ended up with a score of 80.97 while Adamson wrapped up the medalists with 78.57.
