The newly-crowned Season 86 champions, the NU Lady Bulldogs, cherish their seniors who became their driving force behind their championship dreams.
Champions on the court, legends in their hearts—NU seasoned stars Jaja Santiago, Jen Nieva, and Ces Robles—were present in the final game in support of the NU Lady Bulldogs.
It feels like deja vu for the NU alumnae seeing the Lady Bulldogs squad barking their way to the championship against the feisty Golden Tigresses.
While they may have missed the crown before, the new generation of NU squad is able to rewrite the legacy with a tale of redemption for the next generation.
“Bumalik ‘yong ala-ala ko no’ng nag-last playing year ako sa NU. Kaya naiiyak ako kasi nakaka-proud talaga seeing them here in the UAAP [Championship],” said now Japan V-league star Jaja.
The 6-foot-five Filipina pride also commends the dedication of the Lady Bulldogs.
“Kahapon, nag-training ako sa kanila. Nararamdaman ko ‘yong mga pagod nila. ‘Yong gusto talaga nilang mag-champion,” she added.
Meanwhile, Chery Tiggo star libero Jen Nierva could not contain her emotions and cried because of how proud she was of her former teammates.
From underdogs to top dogs, the NU Lady Bulldogs are able to redefine victory in their era of redemption.
