Angel Canino, Bella Belen, and Casiey Dongallo will bolster the Philippine women’s national volleyball team pool for the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Challenge Cup for Women, set on May 22 to 29 at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.


The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) announced the list at the press conference for the national team moniker reveal on May 15, Wednesday.


The UAAP standouts will join seasoned stars Denso Airybees and Creamline setter Jia De Guzman and Choco Mucho’s Sisi Rondina, both of whom are set to bring a wealth of experience to the tricolor squad.


Also part of the call-up are  Eya Laure and Jennifer Nierva of Chery Tiggo, Vanie Gandler and Dawn Macandili-Catindig of Cignal, Dell Palomata of PLDT, Cherry Nunag of Choco Mucho, and Akari's Fifi Sharma and Faith Nisperos.


Thea Gagate and Julia Coronel of La Salle, as well as Alyssa Solomon of National University were also called up for national duties.

 


The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) announced earlier this month that it is delegating the task of selecting, forming, and training the women’s national team for future competitions to the PVL.


The AVC Challenge Cup for Women will see the Philippines compete against teams from Chinese Taipei, India, Iran, and Australia.
