University of the East ended its six-game losing skid after taking down Adamson University in four sets, 26-24, 23-25, 25-18, 25-20, in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Saturday, March 23.

The last time the two teams faced off was when UE coach Jerry Yee was handed a temporary suspension by the UAAP, leading to an emotionally-charged match.

Without any distractions this time around, the Lady Warriors found their groove to down the Lady Falcons, grabbing their second win in the season.

Casiey Dongallo once again spearheaded UE's attack with 28 points on 25 attacks, two blocks, and one service ace. The rookie from California Academy scored the Lady Warriors' last five points in the fourth set.

Riza Nogales provided the much-needed backup to Dongallo with 17 points including six blocks and two aces, while Kayce Balingit chipped in 10 points.

The game marked the first time the Lady Warriors won over the Lady Falcons in almost five years, or since they emerged triumphant on April 13, 2019 back in Season 81.

The win puts UE tied with Adamson and Ateneo de Manila University at a 2-6 record for fifth in the standings.

Ishie Lalongisip carried the fight for the Lady Falcons with 17 points and five digs while Barbie Jamili added 11 points on seven spikes, three blocks, and an ace along with 16 digs.
