The DLSU Lady Spikers may have dealt the FEU Lady Tamaraws a sweep on Wednesday, but star spiker Angel Canino could not help but rue their error-prone performance.

The ladies in green and white coughed out a dismal total of 27 errors, which almost spelled disaster at the critical juncture of La Salle's 25-20, 25-17, 25-22 win over FEU.

"Marami pa po kaming lapses, marami po kaming errors na pwedeng maiwasan inside the court," Canino, the 20-year-old sophomore, bared.

Holding a precarious 22-19 edge in the decisive third frame, Shevana Laput botched an attack attempt that allowed the Lady Tamaraws to whittle the deficit down to one at 21-22.

Laput more than made up for her blunder as she nailed a blow to push La Salle at 23-21, but Leiah Malaluan fumbled from the service line in the ensuing play.

"'Yun nga medyo nag-struggle nga kasi sobrang erratic parang tentative yung galaw nila so pinaalalahanan lang namin na bumalik sa sistema," La Salle assistant coach Noel Orcullo shared.

Fortunately, Ann Asis of FEU had a blunder of her own, putting DLSU at match point. Thea Gagate then sealed the deal with an ace.

After emerging victorious, Canino and the Lady Spikers are doubling down in training to address their outing.

"Lahat naman po kami sa team, nakukulangan pa sa laro namin, which means kailangan pa po namin magdoble kayod talaga sa training

Next up for the reigning champion is UST on Sunday, February 25 -- a bout that will air live on One Sports, One Sports+, and the Pilipinas Live app.
