The Adamson Lady Falcons looked poised for a possible title run in UAAP Season 86 after an impressive campaign last season.

However, that plan has since changed after the departure of key pieces such as Trisha Tubu, Louie Romero, and Kate Santiago.

And so the question on everyone’s mind now is—Where will Adamson go from here?

While there are plenty of “what ifs” for the San Marcelino-based squad, team captain Lucille Almonte is more than happy for the success of her former teammates.

“Wala namang bitter na-feel. At first, nalungkot talaga kasi akala namin mag-iisang year pa sila,” Almonte told One Sports on her former teammates who have since gone pro. “Ako, sobrang happy ako sa mga narating nila ngayon and until now, support pa rin naman ako sa kanila.”

Almonte, who had gone through all the ups and downs with the Lady Falcons, is accepting the challenge of leading the team to another successful campaign.

“Kami nalang din 'yung seniors na natitira ngayon, so tinake ko 'yung pressure as a challenge na parang, 'Oo, isa ka sa mga dapat mag-step up.' Parang nakakatulong din 'yun para sa grow namin as a senior,” said Almonte.

Luckily for Almonte, Adamson still boasts a strong lineup that went toe-to-toe with defending UAAP champion De La Salle during the 2023 Shakey's Super League National Invitational.

Also Joining the Lady Falcons squad in Season 86 are some of the Baby Lady Falcons that made the girls’ tournament Finals last season.

The haul includes star Red Bascon, as well as Eloi Aljibe, Jao Cuenca, and Juris Manuel. Building up from a 10-4 record last season with a new team will be tough, but maybe a fresh start is what Almonte and Adamson need.
