The NU Lady Bulldogs survived a nerve-wracking Game 2 in the UAAP Season 86 women’s basketball tournament finals, escaping the UST Growling Tigresses, 72-70, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday.

The defending champions forced the rubber match, keeping their championship streak and dynasty alive.

Camille Clarin led NU with 18 points and eight assists as the back-and-forth affair went down to the last possession.

Up by two, Clarin could have iced the game from the free throw line with 11 seconds to go but missed both charities.

The Tigresses secured the board off of Clarin's miss, and UST’s Reynalyn Ferrer went for the win with a corner three but missed. The Bulldogs grabbed the rebound as the time expired.

The Bulldogs will aim for their eighth straight title in Game 3, while the Tigresses hope to snap a 17-year title drought.
