Even when he’s abroad, Carl Tamayo continues to support his former team, the UP Fighting Maroons.

In fact, Tamayo was even watching the game live on his computer as he witnessed UP flat-out dominate the De La Salle Green Archers in Game 1 of the UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball finals.

In his Instagram story, the 6-foot-7 big man posted his reaction to UP’s dominant outing which inched them closer to another UAAP title.

Let’s just say it summed up how many fans felt while watching the game.

Shock and awe. That's pretty much how fans, whether you're a UP or La Salle supporter, felt while watching Game 1.

Tamayo, who has been seeing action in the Japan B.League for the defending champion Ryukyu Golden Kings, must miss all the UAAP action. After all, Tamayo only played two of his five-year eligibility in the league.

Nonetheless, UP fans are definitely proud to see Tamayo doing well in Japan. They are also probably thankful that he brought Francis Lopez to Diliman during the offseason.

UP is now just one win away from another UAAP title, while Tamayo and the rest of the Golden Kings are hoping to add another title after their season in Japan.

Truly, there’s nowhere to go but up for the Fighting Maroons and Carl.
