Alyssa Solomon shared the spotlight with Bella Belen in the SEA VLeague.
The Philippine women's national volleyball team went winless in the SEA VLeague, but there were plenty of lessons and memories that the girls took home.
Bella Belen of the NU Lady Bulldogs shared some photos during the competition in Vietnam and Thailand and even garnered some much-deserved praise from no less than Creamline Cool Smashers and national team veteran Alyssa Valdez.
"Galing!" The Phenom commented.
But there was someone who apparently had "doubts" with Belen's performance.
"Check nga natin bukas kung ganyan talaga kataas," Kim Robert Yap Bejo, NU's strength and conditioning coach, commented on a photo of Belen jumping high above Vietnam's blockers for the spike.
"Fake news po 'yan, coach!" Belen replied.
But there may be some weight to that photo, as fans seem to have noticed Belen jumping higher, getting quicker with her attacks, and doing much better with down-the-line spikes.
Check out her highlights from the Philippines' match against Indonesia.
Of course, a quicker, more athletic Belen who can jump higher and spike harder only bodes well for the Lady Bulldogs. It should also be great news for the national team just in case the same core is retained for future competitions and even the pro team that will sign Belen once she decides to take her career to the next level.
