More reasons to love the UST floor defense specialist.
Bernadett Pepito won a lot of hearts this season for being a stable presence for the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses.
Often overshadowed by her high-flying and more explosive teammates, the floor defense specialist continues to make her own mark. In UST's crucial game against the Far Eastern University Tamaraws, for instance, Pepito tallied 21 excellent digs and 18 excellent receptions as the Golden Tigresses booked a ticket to the Final Four behind a four-set win.
The libero was fittingly hailed Best Player of the Game for her contributions.
To know Pepito better, One Sports interviewed her and senior setter Maji Mangulabnan in a "Who's who?" segment. And the answers will definitely make UST fans smile.
First, they were asked, "Sino ang mas makulit?" Both players pointed at each other while secretly laughing.
Both agreed, though, that Mangulabnan takes more scolding from UST coach Kungfu Reyes.
Then, when asked, "Sino ang pwedeng maging crush ng bayan?" Pepito confidently pointed at herself repeatedly.
Mangulabnan raised no objections. UST fans probably won't object either.
