The De La Salle University Lady Spikers looked invincible in their first nine games in the UAAP Season 85 Women's Volleyball Tournament. Until, the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses happened on Sunday.
The "black-gold, black-white" squad pulled the erstwhile unbeaten La Salle team back to Earth with a four-set stunner, 25-19, 14-25, 25-18, 25-12.
UST captain Eya Laure looked unstoppable as she exploded for 29 points in the statement game.
"Sobrang nakakataba ng puso kasi nakikita ulit namin 'yung yellow crowd. Manalo, matalo nandyan sila, nagpapakita," Laure said after finishing with 45% attack efficiency.
Because of La Salle's loss, there will be a classic Final Four semifinals in the UAAP Season 85 Women's Volleyball Tournament. The Lady Spikers still lead the standings with a 9-1 card. The Golden Tigresses improve to 7-3.
