La Salle gives Adamson dose of reality, nears Round 1 sweep

The unbeaten La Salle Lady Spikers bucked off a bad start to bring the Adamson Soaring Falcons back to Earth, 22-25, 25-14, 25-16, 25-19, in the UAAP Season 85 Women's Volleyball Tournament.

It was a tight affair in the first set with Adamson leading by just one point in the crunch time, 23-22. Trisha Tubu, who had 13 points, put the Lady Falcons at set point, then Lucille Almonte seals the set with a drop ball.

La Salle recovered in the second set and didn't look back after. The Lady Spikers' wall was in effect the whole game, tallying 14 block points compared to Adamson's 1.

"Hindi lang kami masyado nag-communicate, hindi kami nakakapwesto pero bumabalik lang kami sa sistema," Lady Spikers setter Mars Alba said.

La Salle improved to a 6-0 record, snapping Adamson's three-game winning streak in the process.

The early contender will have a chance to sweep the first round against non other than the defending champions NU Lady Bulldogs.
