UST, NU continue win streaks in UAAP men’s volleyball

The University of Santo Tomas Golden Spikers stretched their win streak to four games after dispatching the University of the East Red Warriors in straight sets, 25-17, 25-21, 25-23.

Josh Ybañez once again led UST in the victory, finishing with 18 points on 6 service aces to go with 11 excellent receptions and 5 digs.

Jay Rack Dela Noche and Edlyn Colinares likewise had solid outings for the Golden Spikers with 10 and 8 points, respectively.

The victory puts UST second in the standings with a 6-1 record at the conclusion of the first round.

Meanwhile, the NU Bulldogs remain undefeated after a dominant straight set victory over the FEU Tamaraws, 25-20, 25-20, 25-16.

The Bulldogs controlled the match from the get-go and never looked back.

Owa Retamar was hailed Player of the Game after dealing 17 excellent sets during the match.

NU will try to keep their perfect record intact on Wednesday, as they face the De La Salle University Green Spikers for their last match of Round 1. Catch that at 4:00 p.m.
