The Philippine polo team jumpstarted the nation’s 33rd Southeast Asian Games campaign with an early victory on Thursday, five days before the tournament’s formal opening.
The Filipinos prevailed over Indonesia in the mixed 2–4 goals preliminaries, 5.5–3, at the VS Sports Club in Samutprakan, earning the country its first win and setting the tone for the delegation’s opening week.
Polo returned to the regional stage for the first time since the 2019 edition in Calatagan, Batangas.
