The High Speed Hitters barged into the win column on Thursday.
“Siyempre kulang pa.”
Those were the first words that came out of PLDT High Speed Hitters coach Rald Ricafort mere minutes after the team’s breakthrough win in the PVL All-Filipino Conference on Thursday.
For Ricafort, there’s so much work cut out for his the High Speed Hitters, who swept the Army Lady Troopers, 25-19, 25-12, 25-21, for a 1-1 win-loss record.
“Hindi naman ‘yun yung hanap namin na performance,” added the concurrent UP men’s volleyball team coach.
But that doesn’t mean the champion coach with Petro Gazz Angels is not pleased with the improvement his wards showed in Thursday’s victory.
After a slow start, the High Speed Hitters got their bearings going in the second and third frames on their way to the breakthrough win.
But as a tactician, Ricafort knows there are still some aspects of PLDT's game that leave much to be desired.
“Ang goal talaga naman nila every game is mag-improve pa. Happy kami na nakakuha ng una pero marami pang hahabulin,” he said.
At the very least, though, the High Speed Hitters appear to have taken a positive step forward as they look to improve more moving forward.
