The recovering Valdez said Gumabao had always been there for her in their recent trip.
Everyone needs a helping hand at some point in their lives — even Alyssa Valdez.
In a heartfelt Instagram story post, Valdez posted a video of her with Creamline teammate and friend, Michelle Gumabao, who was seen helping her stand up from a pile snow. The GOAT is still recovering from her right knee injury, which explains that humongous knee brace she's wearing.
Alyssa’s story wrote, “@gumabaomichele always there for me!! Wouldn’t have survived this trip without you. Thank you, friend!!”
When the 2022 PVL season came to a close, Valdez and Gumabao decided to spend their offseason in the United States, taking advantage of the holidays to relax and enjoy themselves before resuming intense training this month.
Fellow Cool Smasher Ella De Jesus also joined them in their stop at the ever-busy New York City, .
It looks like it has been an awesome vacation for Gumabao and Valdez, and their strong bond should bode well for the Cool Smashers.
The Cool Smashers have two PVL crowns to defend this season: the PVL Open Conference title that they won back in April against Petro Gazz, and the Invitational Conference trophy that they earned in August after defeating KingWhale Taipei.
