It’s been an up-and-down start for the Eya Laure-Sisi Rondina tandem with the Choco Mucho Flying Titans in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference.

The Flying Titans currently hold a 2-3 record after escaping the Galeries Tower Highrisers in a five-set thriller, 26-24, 20-25, 22-25, 25-13, 15-12, on Thursday night at the FilOil Centre in San Juan.

Laure finished with 18 points, while Rondina also delivered 18 markers to go along with 13 digs and 11 excellent receptions in a strong all-around showing.

With both stars still working their way back—Laure from injury and Rondina after her recent return to indoor play—the duo acknowledged that expectations should be tempered as they continue to build chemistry.

"Kakabalik lang namin pareho. Kakadating ko lang sa Choco and kakabalik niya lang din sa indoor," Laure said during the post-game press conference.

"Nandun lang din kami to remind each other kung ano 'yung pwede namin gawin at kung paano namin i-handle 'yung moments na nag-i-struggle 'yung isa."

For her part, Rondina added that having Laure beside her on the court has been a steadying presence, especially during difficult stretches.

She added that the comfort comes from familiarity that dates back to their University of Santo Tomas days.

"Kapag nandiyan si Eya, parang UST lang," Rondina said. "May mga gestures kami sa loob ng laro na alam na namin 'yung isa't isa. I think 'yun 'yung relationship namin, and masaya ako na nadadala namin 'yun dito sa pro."

With Laure's arrival and Rondina’s return, expectations have been sky high for Choco Mucho, who are looking to return to its championship-contending days.

But rather than looking too far ahead, Rondina emphasized that the Flying Titans' focus remains on consistency and daily improvement as the conference wears on.

"Hindi namin iniisip agad 'yung future," Rondina said. "Magta-training ulit kami, and gusto lang talaga namin maging consistent. Lahat ng mahihina, tatrabahuin. Lahat ng malalakas, i-improve pa."

Next up for Choco Mucho will be the Nxled Chameleons on Tuesday, March 3, still at the FilOil Centre.
