Trisha Tubu and the rest of Farm Fresh got their first taste of victory via an emphatic sweep of Galeries Tower in the PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Trisha Tubu and the rest of Farm Fresh made sure their hearts would not be broken on Valentine's Day as they finally notched their first victory at the expense of Galeries Tower, 25-14, 25-15, 25-12 in the PVL All-Filipino Conference.
With Tubu leading the attack, the Foxies imposed their might early and never let up as they found their winning touch after opening the conference with a pair of setbacks.
Tubu almost single-handedly annihilated the opposition with her 17 points, highlighted by four blocks.
“Masaya kasi first win namin ’to,” Tubu said after the match at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
“Masaya rin kasi maraming nanonood kahit Valentine’s Day.”
While Tubu starred most of the way, it was seasoned hitter Mylene Paat who shut the door as the Highrisers tried to fight for their lives by saving two match points.
Paat dropped the last three points that dealt the Highrisers their second loss in three games. She finished with five points.
Ces Molina and Jolina dela Cruz scored nine each for the Foxies, who will look to build on this much-needed victory.
“Nakuha na namin ang first win namin. Alam na ulit namin 'yong feeling,” said Tubu.
“Goal namin sa mga past few games ay unti-untiin. Hopefully, manalo din sa mga susunod na games.”
Meanwhile, no Highriser finished in double figures, with veteran Aiza Maizo-Pontillas producing nine points.
Erika Deloria also could not follow up on an explosive outing the previous game as she wound up with seven.
