Savi Davison is PVL Player of the Week after her explosive opening performance for PLDT against Creamline in the 2026 All-Filipino Conference.
Savi Davison continues to prove to be a steady and reliable offensive force for PLDT.
The Filipino-Canadian flaunted her lethal form early in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference, anchoring the High Speed Hitters’ stunning sweep of a full force Creamline to open their campaign.
Davison delivered an opening-day performance to remember with a monster triple-double to power PLDT to a 25-22, 25-17, 25-23, whipping of the Cool Smashers on Thursday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
Dropping 26 points from 23 kills and three kill blocks, on top of 11 digs and 10 excellent receptions, Davison’s performance highlighted the two-time champion club’s statement victory.
Davison's efforts and production earned her recognition as the first recipient of the PVL Press Corps Player of the Week presented by Pilipinas Live for the period of January 31 to February 7.
Davison admitted that taking on a Creamline squad that welcomed the return of Jia De Guzman and Bernadeth Pons from their respective national team duties, and Jema Galanza from a foot injury, to join Alyssa Valdez, Tots Carlos, and Michele Gumabao was overwhelming.
But Davison was not the one to back down from a challenge.
“I've been working a lot on patience and waiting all week, and not trying to come out strong because Creamline and their fans... They can make it a really hard environment to play in. I'm just glad that we were able to keep calm and stick to our 80 percent throughout the match,” said Davison.
“You know what, they were pretty intimidating when they came out. I'm not going to lie, all of them were complete. I knew that it was going to be a hard match. Like I said, I'm just happy that we were able to win tonight,” the 2025 Invitationals Most Valuable Player added.
“We try to do this every game coming forward. I don't want to take it to our head, but it's one game at a time.”
Davison edged out Capital1 winger Bella Belen, who had a career-high performance of 26 points, three-time conference MVP Brooke Van Sickle and Myla Pablo of Nxled; Erika Santos and Vanie Gandler of Cignal; Sisi Rondina of Choco Mucho, and Erika Deloria of Galeries Tower for the weekly honor given by print and online reporters covering the pioneering professional volleyball league organized by Sports Vision.
Davison and the High Speed Hitters shoot for a second straight win against Capital1 on Thursday at the same venue in San Juan City and will be streamed live and on demand via the Pilipinas Live app and on www.pvl.ph.
