Galeries Tower ended a near year-long wait to barge into the win column of the PVL, outlasting ZUS Coffee, 25-20, 25-22, 23-25, 22-25, 15-10, at the Ynares Center Montalban Saturday, Feb. 7.

Banking on their revamped roster, the Highrisers ended their 17-game losing skid dating back to February 27 last year, when they defeated the Cignal Super Spikers during the qualifying round of the 2024-2025 All-Filipino Conference.

The High Risers improved to 1-1 this 2026 All-Filipino Conference as they quickly bounced back from a straight-set beatdown against the Super Spikers.

Despite seeing its 2-0 set lead disappear as the Thunderbelles fought to even the match, Galeries Tower managed to calm itself behind a total team effort powered by Gayle Pascual and rookie Erika Deloria.

Tied at 8-all in the fifth, the Highrisers went on a 5-0 blast capped by an overreach call on Thea Gagate.

Needing just two more points, Erika Raagas and Jean Asis put the finishing touches to seal the victory.

Team captain Julia Coronel was hailed the Player of the Game after putting up 16 excellent sets to go along with eight points.

Galeries Tower will go for back-to-back wins when it faces Farm Fresh next Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Ynares Center Antipolo.

ZUS Coffee, on the other hand, aims to finally break through against Akari at the FilOil Centre Thursday, Feb. 12.
