The Capital1 Solar Spikers managed to hold off the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles to snatch win no. 1 in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
The Capital1 Solar Spikers opened their 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference with a hard-fought victory over the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles, 25-17, 25-16, 15-25, 25-19, at the Playtime FilOil Centre in San Juan on Tuesday, Feb. 3.
With eight new additions, the Solar Spikers showed a much more balanced outing for this new conference in taking down the Thunderbelles, who debuted without AC Miner.
Trailing 13-17 in the fourth set, Capital1 came roaring back with a 9-0 blast behind the combined efforts of Bella Belen, Shaya Adorador, and Ysa Jimenez.
With momentum on their side, the Solar Spikers closed out the match in commanding fashion to seal their first win of the year.
Belen led the way with 26 points, built on 24 attacks and two service aces.
Capital1 will go for back-to-back wins when it goes toe-to-toe with the Nxled Chameleons on Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Ynares Center Montalban.
