Judith Abil is back on the free-agent market after parting ways with the Cignal Super Spikers just weeks before the start of the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference.

Cignal officially announced Abil’s departure on Friday, January 2, thanking the 27-year-old for her contributions towards the Super Spikers.

“Your energy truly lit up the Cignal Super Spikers, and we wish you nothing but the best as you take on your next journey. Thank you, Judith Abil,” the team wrote in a social media post.

Abil joined Cignal as a free agent in July 2024, about a year after she was released by Nxled Chameleons. She was among the players who took part in the league’s two-day free agent combine that year, which was held alongside the PVL’s inaugural draft-related activities.

The former University of the East Lady Warriors standout was initially deployed as a libero before eventually returning to her natural position as an outside hitter.

Despite the adjustment, Abil made an immediate impact and even earned a Player of the Game citation while filling in for Dawn Macandili-Catindig, who was out due to Alas Pilipinas duties.

Meanwhile, Julia Angeles has also parted ways with the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles. Angeles previously served as the team’s primary libero before the arrival of Alyssa Eroa.

Following Eroa’s signing, Angeles saw limited action during ZUS Coffee’s silver-medal run in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference.

With their departures confirmed, both Abil and Angeles are once again free agents and are expected to look for new teams ahead of the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference, which opens later this month.
