The Petro Gazz Angels look to ride their late surge into the knockout phase as they face the Creamline Cool Smashers in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference quarterfinals on Monday, November 24, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The no. 5-seeded Angels enter the do-or-die battle with renewed confidence after closing the preliminaries with a crucial four-set stunner over the PLDT High Speed Hitters.

In that match, veteran libero Bang Pineda delivered a masterclass on floor defense, tallying 23 excellent digs and 10 excellent receptions, earning her Player of the Game honors.

Her timing could not be better.

With Creamline’s formidable attackers waiting on the other side of the net, Pineda’s steadiness, court reading, and contagious energy will be vital in helping Petro Gazz keep rallies alive and generate transition opportunities.

The Angels’ offensive weapons are equally primed for the moment. Import Lindsey Vander Weide, who recently erupted for 35 points against PLDT, continues to spearhead the attack alongside Brooke Van Sickle, MJ Phillips, and Jonah Sabete.

Rookie setter Jules Tolentino has also grown increasingly confident in running the Angels’ offense, giving the team a more dynamic rhythm entering the playoffs.

With a semifinals berth at stake and no tomorrow for the loser, Petro Gazz hopes to turn its late surge into another breakthrough win against the league’s most decorated squad.
