Katrin Trebichavska has arrived in the PVL, giving the Cignal Super Spikers a much-needed boost in the 2025 Reinforced Conference.
The Cignal Super Spikers were in quite the unique predicament in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference.
In a league where import changes are quite rare, Cignal made the decision to let go of Eva Chantava after a slow 0-2 start.
The Super Spikers then had to go all-Filipino in their initial win over PLDT, before finally welcoming new import Katrin Trebichavska to the fold Satuday against Nxled.
Despite her mid-conference arrival, Trebichavska made good on her PVL debut, firing a team-high 21 points to help Cignal escape the Chameleons in five sets.
“I actually wanted to come to the Philippines in the beginning of the season but it didn’t work out. When this opportunity came, I was coming. There was no question,” she said.
“My goals are to win everything we can, starting today,” Trebichavska added.
Cignal eased its new import into her first game, with Trebichavska not starting the first two sets.
The Slovak hitter was admittedly not in her best shape, but vowed to help the Super Spikers make up for lost time.
“Obviously I’m super glad that we won. For me it was a rough performance, and I hope I can just help the team more in the future. Everyone was super supportive, super helpful,” she said.
“Last night was actually the first time I got more than four hours of sleep. Preparing is very rough, but everyone is accommodating. It was a great challenge, but I really enjoyed it,” Trebichavska added.
LOCALS SHINE
Aside from Trebichavska, PVL on Tour MVP Erika Santos also had 21 points, highlighting Cignal’s resilient local foundation.
Santos, who also led the team in scoring in their win over PLDT, was once again followed by Ishie Lalongisip with 11 points.

Middle blockers Roselyn Doria-Aquino and Jackie Acuña added nine apiece.
“Yung tiwala ko rin muna sa mga local, dun talaga manggagaling lahat. Syempre pag may import, additional yun. I think itong dalawang panalo namin ang nag-boost ng morale namin,” said head coach Shaq Delos Santos.
The victory pushed the Super Spikers to 2-2, while Nxled dropped to 0-4.
Paola Martinez led the Chameleons with a strong 38-point outing despite the loss.
