The Akari Chargers have announced former Hawaii standout Annie Mitchem as their import for the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference, aiming to build on last year's silver medal finish.
The Akari Chargers have officially announced American spiker Annie Mitchem as their import for the upcoming 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference.
The Chargers made the announcement less than a week before the start of their Reinforced campaign.
"An Outside Hitter with championship runs in Brazil, Italy, and Turkey! With her championship experience and serious firepower, she’s ready to charge with us this conference," the team wrote.
Mitchem does have an extensive history playing abroad, having suited up in Italy for Savino Del Bene Scandicci, Zanetti Bergamo, and Lardini Filottrano, Brazil’s Gerdau Minas, and Turkiye’s Aras Kargo, among others.
The 31-year-old spiker last played for Jakarta Livin Mandiri in Indonesia.
During her college years, Mitchem competed for Hawaii, where she appeared in 20 matches in her senior season and tallied 198 kills, 50 digs, and 58 total blocks, earning All-Big West First Team honors.
The addition of Mitchem gives Akari, which finished silver in last year’s Reinforced Conference, a potent attacking weapon with a deep international resume.
Mitchem will be paired up with stars Ivy Lacsina, Grethcel Soltones, Fifi Sharma, Mars Alba, and Justine Jazareno under head coach Tina Salak.
The 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference will begin on October 7.
