The ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles inched closer to a Finals berth in the Davao Invitational after sweeping the DLSU Lady Spikers for back-to-back victories.
The ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles kept their unbeaten record intact after dispatching the DLSU Lady Spikers in straight sets, 25-23, 25-21, 25-19, in the Davao Invitational Volleyball Tournament at the USEP Gym in Bo. Obrero, Davao City on Friday, September 5.
The Thunderbelles leaned on the veteran presence of Jovelyn Gonzaga and Fiola Ceballos, who provided stability on both ends, while rookies AC Miner and Chinnie Arroyo turned in strong performances to help the team secure its second straight win in the four-team pocket tournament.
La Salle put up a tough fight behind Angel Canino, but the Lady Spikers could not keep up with ZUS Coffee’s balanced offense and composure in the crucial stretches of each set.
