Ara Galang gave it her all to drive Chery Tiggo past Creamline in a pulsating five-set duel, 25-20, 24-26, 21-25, 25-17, 17-15, in the 2025 PVL Invitational at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig Saturday, Aug. 23.

The 30-year-old spiker starred in the bounce-back win, finishing with 20 points built on 15 attacks, four blocks and an ace.

Coming off a rough straight-set loss to PLDT, Galang shared the importance of the win for a reeling Crossovers squad.

“Bounce back lang talaga 'yong kailangan namin ngayon,” Galang said during the post-game press conference.

“Kailangan naming ma-redeem ang mga sarili namin. Bumalik lang kami, mas naging composed kami at [bumalik] 'yong teamwork din namin.”

There hasn't been much rest for Chery Tiggo after the PVL on Tour Finals as the team returned to action days later for the Invitational tournament.

Despite the fatigue felt by the team, Galang stressed that the Crossovers must simply push through and overcome it.

“'Yong pagod kasi, nandiyan talaga, kasama 'yan. Naglalaro kami, eh. Lahat naman pagod, pati 'yong kalaban namin,” she added.

“Kailangan lang ma-overcome 'yon. Kailangang i-set aside namin 'yong pagod. 'Yong laro namin, ilaban namin kung hanggang anong kaya namin.”

Amid the tight schedule, Galang emphasized that motivation remains high for her and her teammates, who are eager to build on their recent Finals run.

With the win, Chery Tiggo improved to a 2-1 record for solo second with just two games left in their schedule. The top two teams after the invitational round will advance to the championship match.

“Ginusto rin naman namin ‘to. ‘Di naman kami naglalaro lang para hindi manalo. Laging 'yon (winning) ang goal namin, 'yon 'ang gusto namin,” she said.

“Ngayon, medyo nasa taas kami, so kailangan 'yong consistency. Lagi kaming may gustong i-improve sa sarili namin. Mag-re-reflect naman 'yon as a team, kapag individually, nagsi-step-up.”

Up next for the Crossovers will be undermanned ZUS Coffee on Tuesday, Aug. 25.
