Farm Fresh star Trisha Tubu capped another impressive campaign by bagging the Best Opposite Hitter award in the PVL on Tour, vowing to turn individual success into team progress in future conferences.
Farm Fresh star Trisha Tubu added another feather to her young career after being hailed as the Best Opposite Hitter in the PVL on Tour.
The 24-year-old lefty spiker admitted she was caught off guard.
“Hindi ko rin na-expect na ako [makakakuha nung award] and then, nag-chat nga manager ko. Sabi niya may award ako. Pero 'yun nga, thankful ako, syempre na napili rin ako mag-a-award,” Tubu told One Sports.
While grateful, she confessed that awards often leave her questioning herself—pushing her to strive harder each time.
“Kailangan ko patunayan sa sarili ko na deserve ko ito. Kasi 'yun nga, until now, kahit 'yung past kong awards, lagi ako nag-iisip na, ano pa ba 'yung dapat kong gawin? Para makuntento ako sa kung ano ‘yung mga binibigay sa akin. Lagi ako, para sa akin ba ito? Deserve ko ba ito o ganun ba?” she added.
Tubu’s numbers backed up her recognition, finishing as the fifth-best scorer with 77 points, ranking third in spiking efficiency at 36.16 percent, and placing 10th in blocking with 0.50 per set.
But for the former Adamson star, her biggest goal remains tied to the success of the Foxies, who continue are looking to find their footing in the PVL under Italian head coach Alessandro Lodi.

“For the team naman, siyempre ‘yun nga, may progress na rin kami. Sana next conference, mas mataas pa ‘yung makuha namin. And hopefully, makapasok kami sa ulit, sa quarters, then Final Four—’yun talaga target namin,” said Tubu.
“Sabi kasi ni coach, may process talaga ‘yan, hindi yan instant. So talagang mag-stick kami doon sa process. And 'yun, hopefully next conference, hindi lang ako ‘yung magka-award,” she added.
