The Chery Tiggo Crossovers flexed their playoff experience against the Nxled Chameleons to advance to the PVL on Tour semifinals.
The Chery Tiggo Crossovers continue their surge in the PVL on Tour after ending the Nxled Chameleons’ dream run in the quarterfinals with a straight-sets win, 25–17, 25–15, 25–20, at the PhilSports Arena on Saturday, August 9.
This marks the Crossovers' first semifinal berth in the PVL since the 2024 All-Filipino Conference.
Libero Karen Verdeflor was hailed the Player of the Game with 16 excellent digs on 55-percent digging efficiency.
In the third set, Chery Tiggo pulled away early with a 5-1 start capped by Renee Penafiel’s cross-court attack.
The Crossovers continued to pounce on the hapless Chameleons, extending their lead by as many as eight points at 13-5.
While Lyann De Guzman and EJ Cariño tried their best to keep Nxled’s playoff hopes alive, Chery Tiggo simply had too much firepower in the match.
Penafiel’s back-to-back hits put her squad at match point, before Mary Rhose Dapol sealed the game with an off-the-block hit.
Chery Tiggo will face the Cignal HD Spikers in the semifinals on Tuesday, August 11, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.
