The Chery Tiggo Crossovers clinched their quarterfinals spot after closing out the Galeries Tower Highrisers in the PVL on Tour knockout round.
The Chery Tiggo Crossovers proved to be too much to handle for the Galeries Tower Highrisers, advancing to the PVL on Tour quarterfinals after a straight sets win, 25–23, 25–22, 25–21, at the Dasmariñas Arena in Cavite on Saturday, August 2.
After coming up short of securing a direct quarterfinal slot in pool play, the Crossovers left no room for an upset against the pesky Highrisers squad.
Trailing 15-17 in the third set, Chery Tiggo went on a 6-0 run led by Ara Galang to give themselves some distance against Galeries Tower.
With momentum on their side, the Crossovers closed the game out with Cess Robles scoring the team's final two points.
Galang was hailed the Player of the Game with 11 points off 10 attacks and one block, to go along with 11 excellent digs.
Next up for the Crossovers will be the Nxled Chameleons in the quarterfinals on Saturday, August 9, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
